About Me

I specialise in historical architectural stone carving and have experience in dealing with the nuances among the archetypes of architecture.

I started working with stone in 2007 after graduating university with a degree in Illustration. Since then I obtained a qualification in Historic Stone Carving from the City & Guilds of London Art School and have worked internationally on Historic and Cultural projects.

My Work

My philosophy for working with stone is based on quality, reliability and availability. In order to prevent myself from being confined to one area, I work as a freelancer, relocating for work when necessary. Other commissions require working on a one-to-one basis, to produce a personal sculpture that fits a unique brief.

My Toolset

The toolset that I use today is not dissimilar to that which was used at the dawning of the craft thousands of years ago, with the exception of a few modern innovations. To ensure time is not wasted on cutting and roughing out the basic shapes, the use of pneumatic tools is deployed. All of my work is then hand finished with the use of a mallet and smaller chisels to ensure the highest quality.
